


FAST FACTS
HIGH SCHOOL – Battle Boards is a high school championship, for now.
ONLINE – teams play online from their school or chosen venue.
10 MINUTES per side per game.
288 TEAMS – across 9 provinces will compete against each other. Team results are based on individual game results.
32 SCHOOLS – limit per province. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
15 STANDBY PLACES – limit per province. Once registration reaches 32 places per province, 15 places held on standby. Should teams be withdrawn, standby teams replace withdrawn teams on a first come, first serve basis in order of standby registration.
7 PLAYERS per team plus 1 reserve, mandatory in order to compete.
9 PROVINCES – Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, North West, and Western Cape.
TEAM REGISTRATION – opens 10 April 2025.
PLAYER REGISTRATION – This will be conducted on leaguespot. Look out for further information on opening and closing dates.
PROVINCIAL POOLS – are released on www.battleboards.co.za.

PROCESS IN GENERAL
- The first 32 schools per province are registered through the website.
- Team rankings are based on player ratings, which is automatically calculated by the system. If a player is not rated, they are allocated novice status.
- Teams are allocated to pools automatically by the registration system, but based on an even-strength basis as far as possible.
- Once all registrations have been processed, the pools will be revealed.
- Schools will receive an automated email confirmation of their registration and a reminder to register their 7 players and 1 reserve by 5 May 2025.
TEAM WITHDRAWALS
Teams are withdrawn from the tournament on the following bases:
- Voluntary withdrawal – Teams may choose to withdraw at any time for any reason.
- Missed player registration – Teams who do not complete their player registrations by 5 May 2025 are automatically withdrawn.
- Incomplete player registration – Teams who do not provide all the required details for all players by 5 May 2025 are automatically withdrawn.
- Insufficient players – Teams who cannot field 7 players cannot compete.
- Any team dropping out of the tournament, or who are removed for not completing their registration or player registrations in full, will be replaced by a team on the standby list.
STANDBY LIST
- Once capacity has been reached per province, 15 standby places are reserved. These are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
- The standby list is numbered in order of registration.
- Any team withdrawn from the registered places are replaced by a standby team, in the order in which their registration was received.
